Activity Awards—Made Easy
The skill-building activities introduced through activity awards help children grow as whole persons. That’s an important goal of the Pioneer Clubs program. When you follow the curriculum outlined in each leader plan book, you will introduce club members to a new spectrum of skills, ranging from arts to sports to camping. Activity awards can strengthen areas of interest, enrich club members’ lives and encourage them to have fun with friends in a Christian environment.
Here are a few tips to making activity awards easy
- The flexibility in the meeting plan allows for working on either one or two activity awards per meeting. You may even replace suggested activities in the leader plan book with other options listed in the handbook.
- Staying on schedule in a club meeting allows you enough time to do the activity awards. Each meeting plan has recommended time frames beside the meeting sections.
- Use the expertise of church members for activities that you are not familiar with or are not comfortable leading. Many adults who would hesitate to commit to a year-long club leadership position would gladly help out for the four weeks needed to earn an award.
- Ordering awards is easy, too. Just order one set for each child in your club based on the leader plan book you are using that year. For more details on award sets, click here.
