To Do in April

• Check with leaders about award orders.
• Schedule a time for club leaders to get together with you and evaluate the club year.
• Thank your leaders for their year of service. Check out some ways to recognize your leaders.
• Begin making plans to add age levels to your club program next fall. This would be a great time to offer families more Christian education options for their kids.
• Take care of last-minute details for the Kids for Kids Hike.
• Set up next fall’s budget.
• Continue your recruitment efforts. Find out which leaders are planning on helping with club next fall. Begin praying for additional leaders. 
• Make sure all club leaders and committee members are signed up for the monthly Leadership eNewsletter. Sign up at www.pioneerclubs.org.

To Do in May

• Get commitments from leaders who plan to return next year. Doing so now will help you assess your future leadership needs. Your recruitment efforts during the summer will be more targeted.
• Plan a special event during the summer to help kids and leaders stay connected, get parents involved, and give kids the opportunity to invite unchurched friends to Pioneer Clubs.
  Ideas:
  • Collect financial donations for a food pantry. Take club members to a supermarket to shop for the food you’ll donate.
  • Borrow ice cream freezers and have a homemade ice cream party.
  • Order pine cars or sailboats from the Pioneer Clubs online store and have a derby race. You can even order a pine car event kit for ease of planning.
  • Visit a museum of natural history, a science museum or even a local history museum. Often museums have a day of the week when they’re free or will offer group rates. Your local museum may have special children’s programs.
• If your club will meet during the summer, recruit summer staff.
• Host a thank-you party for club leaders, other helpers, committee members and spouses.
• Schedule an evaluation meeting with club leaders and committee members.
