To Do in August

August is a great month to get ready for the upcoming Pioneer Clubs year. Start planning now and you’ll be off to a good start when fall comes. Here are some essential things to consider this month.

• Review the contents of the registration packet that was mailed to you in early August. Or register online.
• Order your copies of the NEW How to Run a Successful Pioneer Clubs Program for Coordinators and Committees workbook. This book updates and replaces the Club Coordinator's Manual.
• Meet with your leaders and committee members to plan the year’s goals and annual calendar.
• Ask leaders to send announcement postcards to former club members and potential new members, inviting them to club.
• Order club materials by calling 800.694.2582 or by shopping online.
• Contact your church office and ask that your Pioneer Clubs ministry be added to the church’s prayer list, website, church bulletin and ask the pastoral staff to make an announcement during the worship service.
• Plan a training session for leaders and committee members.
• Recruit additional staff.
• Plan your club kickoff event. Pick your own fun theme (see ideas in this issue) or order the Club Kickoff Party Kit.
• Two to three weeks before your club starts, send out a news release to local newspapers.
• Print this month’s leader’s tool—the Club Leader’s Supply List taken from the new Basic Training Workbook for Pioneer Clubs Leaders , and hand it out to your club leaders to help them get organized.
