Coordinators—To Do List

To Do June/July

  • Host a thank-you party for leaders, other helpers, committee members and spouses.
  • If you haven’t already done so, schedule an evaluation meeting with leaders and committee members. For evaluation tools see the May issue of the Leadership eNewsletter.
  • Recruit leaders and other volunteers as needed for summer or fall. If you’d like valuable tips on how to successfully recruit, then read the article in this issue of the eNewsletter on recruiting over the summer. Or sign up for one of our webinars.
  • Promote club at summer church events. Vacation Bible school is a perfect time to spread the news about Pioneer Clubs. Create a take-home flyer for the children or ask if you can make a short presentation to kids and parents.
  • Start planning your upcoming club year. View a Sample Club Year Calendar. This tool will help you plan the elements of a club year, such as leader training, club kickoff, special events and award celebrations.
  • Outline your training plans for club leaders. Veterans as well as new leaders will benefit from training. A well-trained leader is more likely to have a positive experience. Click here for training information.
  • Look through the new Pioneer Clubs catalog (arriving in your mail around July 1). Start planning your order for next fall now and avoid the rush!
  • Meet with your pastor and review the highlights of the previous year. Did any club members bring their families to church? Did any children make professions of faith?
  • Did your club membership grow? Did leaders enjoy serving in club? Your insights can help your pastor see the value of a strong children’s ministry in the congregation.
  • Consider adding more age levels to your club program next year.
  • Compile a list of club members and leaders going to Camp Cherith® and the dates they will be there. Send cards to those at camp. For information on Camp Cherith, click here.
