To Do in May
- Schedule a time for club leaders to get together with you and evaluate the club year.
- Thank your leaders for their year of service. Check out some ideas to appreciate your leaders.
- Get commitments from leaders who plan to return next year. Doing so now will help you assess your future leadership needs. Your recruitment efforts during the summer will be more targeted.
- Plan a special event during the summer to help kids and leaders stay connected, get parents involved, and give kids the opportunity to invite unchurched friends to Pioneer Clubs.
Four ideas:
- Hold a kite-hike afternoon—fly kites at a park and then end with a simple hike and devotional from the Talks That Teach book.
- Take a bike hike and add a bike safety presentation from the local community service officer.
- Host a swimming party for parents and children.
- Plan a family-and-friends picnic with a nature scavenger hunt.
- If your club will meet during the summer, recruit summer staff. Make sure all leaders and committee members are signed up for the monthly Leadership eNewsletter. Sign up at www.pioneerclubs.org
