To Do in November - Plan a Christmas thank-you for leaders, such as getting their club groups to sign cards, distributing small gifts, or even holding an informal coffee.
- Make sure that plans are well underway for any special events for Thanksgiving or Christmas. If leaders are looking for resources, have several copies of the Parties and Special Events book available to lend out.
- Help club leaders coordinate special events for their individual clubs so you don’t end up with conflicting dates for parents with children in more than one age-group.
- Plan an all-club award ceremony in a church service. Besides being good promotion for club, this is sure to boost club members’ self-esteem and delight proud parents. Hand out the awards earned in the most recent unit, and read the names of awards already handed out at the end of earlier units.
- Add your club leaders to the church prayer list, asking people to pray that the Lord will guide and encourage them as they work with the children of your church.
- Make sure parents, club members and club leaders are aware of any upcoming club meeting schedule changes due to the holiday season. For today’s busy parents, use more than one method to communicate club news. Consider email, your church’s website, posters near the church entrance, and reminder notes at club.
