Our Club’s Camp Promotion Plan

by Charlene “Flicker” Bennett

January. We hold a Saturday Camp Day to get our kids thinking about camp. Parents are invited, and we do several hour-long activities in the morning (horseback riding, hiking, outdoor cooking, etc.). After lunch, we have a Songfest and campfire message around a fire.

February. We go to each club group and talk about camp to get the kids excited about Land o’ Sunshine Camp Cherith’s Winter Weekends. Then we attend the Winter Weekends.

March. This is the month to visit each club group and show Land o’ Sunshine’s video and hand out camp brochures.

April. During a Camp Night at club, each club group goes to several short camp-type events (nature craft, initiative games, s’mores, etc.). We ask camp staff members to run these events, and we finish with a campfire.

Charlene Bennett attends Christian Family Chapel, Jacksonville, Florida, and serves on the administrative staff at Land o’ Sunshine Camp Cherith.
