Club Leaders Discuss: "How Do You Deal with a Cramped Club Room?"
Move the Tables
If you don’t need them for projects, get rid of the tables and chairs. You will have much more room if tables and chairs are removed from the room or stacked up against a wall.
Children sit at desks all day long, so they actually prefer to sit on the floor.

Share Big Rooms
Space is a big issue for us at our church. One option for us is to share bigger “run-around” rooms (like a gym or big room). That way clubs can play ball games, tag games, and so on.
We have a signup for these rooms. Clubs can sign up for part of the hour. The other part of the hour is available for other clubs. This has worked for us to get the wiggles out and give clubs a change of space and atmosphere.

Use Other Areas
Move around as much as possible--do a scavenger hunt through the hallways, go outside to play games or work on an award.

Split the Group
Last year we had a large fourth-grade group, so things did get cramped and out of control sometimes. We split the group in half. One leader would do Bible Exploration with the first group, while the other leader would work on the Award Activity or game with the others in another area. Then they would switch. This allowed for better crowd control and gave the kids more space to work.
