Summer Fun
Keep in touch with your Skippers or Scooters over the summer with some of these ideas. Listening Walk. You and your club members could invite parents and go on a walk through a forest preserve, park, or the church grounds. Encourage children to identify sounds that they hear as they walk. Reunion party. Join with Pals to host a party. You could have a buffet-style meal and do kid-sized activities. Check the Skipper and Scooter Celebrations book for ideas (see Pioneer Clubs catalog). Picnic. Sponsor a picnic for club members and leaders. Invite incoming club members, and introduce them to current club members and your coleader(s). Aquarium. Parents could help chaperone a trip to an aquarium (or farm, petting zoo, etc.) to show club members the animals God created. Church Event. You and your club members could attend a church play or carnival as a group. |
