Read 1 Corinthians 6:18-20. What is special about our bodies?

2. A Christian View of Sex (do both)
Read a Christian book or watch a Christian video about sex, and discuss God’s plan for sex with your parents, leader or pastor. Write down what you learned.

Analyze the view of sex seen on TV or in a magazine. Create a TV commercial, poster, or song that promotes following God’s plan for sex. Show it to your leader.

3. Saying No to Substance Abuse (do all)
Talk about substance abuse with your pastor or a Christian counselor, police officer, or physician. List substances, their effects on the body, and problems caused by substance abuse.

  • A student you’d like to know better invites you to a party where there will be alcohol and drugs.
  • When you’re feeling like a failure, a friend offers you some liquor “to help you forget your troubles.”
  • A teammate offers to share some drugs before you play in an important game.
  • At your friend’s party, the parents provide beer.
  • A friend’s brother offers you a sniff of something he says makes you feel good.
  • Before a final exam, a classmate suggests you take some drugs to help.
  • When you go to your friends’ home, they’re sampling their parents’ liquor.
  • In the parking lot before school, cigarettes are being passed around.

    Service Opportunity
    Join a community or school campaign against substance abuse. If no campaign exists, start one.
