Welcome!

$Account.OrganizationName
Summer is coming to a close, and yet I’m excited because, within a month or so, I’ll be back with the kids in my Trailblazer Club, having fun and exploring God’s Word.

As a leader, I know the groundwork done in August is critical to a successful club year. It’s time to confirm new volunteers and welcome returning ones. It’s a time of planning and training. I can’t stress enough the value of training—for new leaders and seasoned pros: to learn new skills (that make leading a greater joy) plus hone your current skills. Go to Leader Training Updates at www.pioneerclubs.org for an array of training options.

As your Pioneer Clubs leadership team takes shape, remember that God is the builder. I’m confident he has great things planned for your Pioneer Clubs program this fall! Let me know how things are going. I'd love to hear about your club.

Blessings!

It Worked at Our Club

In this regular feature of our new eNewsletter, we plan to highlight the best ideas from coordinators and leaders. If you have an idea that you’d like to share, please send your tip to Louise Ferrebee at lferrebee@pioneerclubs.org. Topics of the most interest include:
  • discipline
  • inviting new children to Pioneer Clubs
  • communicating with parents
  • ways to promote your program
  • ways to organize and plan for success
  • ideas for recruiting adult volunteers
  • games
So keep the ideas coming. We know that some of you have been active in Pioneer Clubs® for 30 years or more. Share your experience! Support your fellow coordinators and leaders as you help children make Christ Lord in every aspect of life.

What's Up at Club?

Bloomington Skippers
A picture is worth a thousand words, so show us those zany ideas that generated smiles, what you did for fall club kickoff, or how you celebrated Pioneer Clubs Sunday ... the list is endless because we know your creativity is endless when it comes to club. Send us your stories and digital photos (lferrebee@pioneerclubs.org).

Featured this month are Skippers (ages 2-3) at Bloomington Bible Church in Bloomington, Illinois. Every month this club holds a different special night for fun. In this case, it was “mismatched shoe night” which the youngest to the oldest thoroughly enjoyed. For more pictures of what’s going on at club, click here.

Six Super Recruiting Ideas

Every program needs leaders and volunteers to run it and while finding these people is a challenge, successful recruitment starts with the right attitude. You’re helping people find a place in their church where they can serve the Lord. Now that’s an exciting endeavor!
  1. Pray—pray for the leaders and volunteers that God would have you put in place in club. Also ask potential leaders to pray about serving in club.

Get-Acquainted Games

Favorites Choose a question, and have players answer it when their name is called. Ideas: What’s your favorite food (animal, subject in school, summer activity, vacation spot, etc.)? Those not wanting to share may say “here” when their name is called. Give them another chance to respond at the end. Variation: Call player’ names and have them respond by telling the best or worst thing that happened to them in the past week.

Clever Ways to Get Supplies

Clubs run on supplies—everything from glue to paper bags. We polled the Pioneer Clubs staff for innovative and economical ways to get supplies. With a little creativity, your supply closet can be readily stocked and set to go for the new club year.

Hold a Shower
In the weekly church bulletin, list items that church members can buy and donate—markers, scissors, glue and so on. Place a box in a prominent location for shower gift drop-off.
