65TH BIRTHDAY PARTY
Throw an all-club or all-church party to celebrate Pioneer Clubs’
65th anniversary and the anniversary of club at your church–even
if it’s only 6 months!
- Create a birthday cake in the shape and colors of the Pioneer
Clubs logo. Have 65 candles (or the proper number of candles for your
own club’s anniversary).
- Help teams of club members do research ahead of time and then
put on skits showing club members on their way to Pioneer Clubs in each
decade of its history (’40s through ’90s). What would they
be wearing? What would they be talking about? What slang would they use?
What would they want to do in club? Ideas: “When will this war ever
end?” “Does my poodle skirt look all right?” “Do
you think we’ll do macrame tonight?” “How do you like
my pet rock?” Play decade-appropriate music to introduce each skit.
- For decorations, put together a photo timeline showing your church’s
club history.
- Make birthday cards, and post them in the sanctuary or foyer.
Each person could write one reason he or she is glad your church has club.
Option: Send cards to Pioneer Clubs headquarters.
