e-mail address changes.
- The choice to communicate via telephone is the responsibility of the mentor and mentee.
|
|

|
- Mentor/Mentee
- The mentor/mentee will develop the frequency of contacts to meet their needs.
- Pioneer Clubs recommends contact at least once or twice per month.
- Prompt response to e-mails is important. Pioneer Clubs recommends a turnaround response time of 48 hours; however, the response time should be determined by the mentor/mentee.
|
|
Prayer
- Prayer should be an integral part of your support system. The mentor/mentee can pray for each other and provide prayer for requests from others.
|
|
|
Mentoring Tools
Sharing
- Share your experience. Relate what has and hasn’t worked for you.
Examples
- Provide examples of what you have done. This gives your mentee a vision for what you are relating and helps to further his or her understanding.
Guiding
- Guide your mentee, offer resources, and let him or her find the answers.
Suggestions
- Suggest alternate or new ways of problem-solving. Your suggestions should stimulate ideas for the mentee.

Training
Pioneer Clubs Web site (www.pioneerclubs.org)
- The Leader Resource Center provides online training for coordinators and leaders. Currently, three areas are offered: Basic Training, Goals and Philosophy, and Bible Memory.
- If mentor has not yet completed this online training, we urge you to do so. Once you complete this training, you will have a better understanding of it and can encourage your mentee to complete it.
- Mentee should be urged to complete these three training blocks as soon as possible in the following order: Basic Training, Goals and Philosophy, and Bible Memory.
- The Pioneer Clubs eNewsletter is sent to all leaders and coordinators whose e-mail address is on file. This is another training tool that provides monthly tips for recruitment, discipline, special events, and more. The eNewsletter is also available on the Pioneer Clubs Web site in the Leader Resource Center.
