• Safety & Security – All Camp Cherith® staff complete an extensive application and undergo a comprehensive screening interview and reference check. All Cherith® camps are licensed by Pioneer Clubs and accredited by the American Camping Association or the Canadian Provincial Camping Association.
  • Counselor Qualifications & Training – Camp Cherith® staff are made up of adults and college-age individuals. Many have been Pioneer Clubs leaders or Cherith® campers. They are trained in counseling, skill activities, CPR and general first aid. A trained nurse is on staff. Cherith® also offers an extensive Counselor-in-Leadership-Training (C.I.L.T.) program for high school campers.
  • Activities and Programs Offered – Camp Cherith® is a traditional s’mores type summer camp. Camper activity choices may include swimming, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, archery, zip lines, horseback riding, air riflery, fishing, sports, drama, nature, and lots more.
  • Camper to Counselor Ratio – Camp Cherith® ratios are typically 7:1. In some cases cabin groups may be smaller and have a lead counselor and an assistant. Activity and Bible Exploration groups are small so campers have an opportunity to learn and practice skills and participate in Bible lesson discussions.
  • Camper Return Rate – All Cherith® camps experience a high return rate because campers enjoy the experience and parents trust the Cherith® staff.
  • Can the Camp Accommodate Health Concerns – Most Cherith® camps can handle special needs such as allergies, asthma, diabetes and the nurse will dispense medication. Parents should consult with the individual camp to determine the extent of their ability to handle the special need of their child.
