R = Remember
Remember, it’s never too early to plan your strategy for recruiting club leaders.
E = Encourage
Encourage your present leaders to continue for another year. Affirm the job they’re doing, and meet with them individually to evaluate the current club year. Listen to them, and try to help solve any club concerns. Some coordinators particularly try to encourage leaders midway through the club year when energies and spirits may lag.
C = Create
Create a pleasing environment for your leaders. Is the club room adequate? Do they have needed equipment and supplies? Let your leaders know you are available if they need help. Be a leader of your leaders.
R = Reward
Reward your leaders’ efforts. Thank and encourage them as they leave each week. The time they give club is one of their most valuable resources.
During a special service, ask the pastor to publicly identify club leaders and dedicate them in prayer. Leaders could be recognized with a gift, bookmark, Pioneer Clubs membership pin or service pin. Look for these and other ideas in the Pioneer Clubs online store.
U = Uphold
Uphold your leaders in prayer. Ask your church family to remember club leaders in both personal and group devotions.
I = Input
Give input to your leaders by providing ongoing training. Consider using one or more of the training workshops available in the Pioneer Clubs online store.
T = Thank
Thank your leaders regularly. Drop them a note occasionally to tell them how much you appreciate them.
That Spells “Recruit”
We hope this acrostic will help you look at recruitment as an ongoing opportunity to be involved in the lives of your leaders and to help them effectively minister to children for Christ.
