Mild and Wild
Our club calendar told club members and parents about a theme or quick activity for almost every club meeting during the year. Here are a few examples of what we wrote.
- Build the Manger – All club members and leaders can place one piece of straw into the manger for each good deed they have done the past week. A note needs to be written and placed in a box for each deed. This is for the three club nights of December.
- Valentine’s Day – Wear as many hearts as you can.
- Runaway Night – We’ll run away to a different location for club. It’s a MYSTERY where we’ll go…can you find out???
- What a Leader – Leaders bring photos of when they were babies (first week). Club members vote for the cutest baby picture. Club members bring treats for leaders (second week).
- Mother’s Day – Dress like YOUR mother or YOUR father.
- Bloom for Others – Bring one flower to plant at church.
- Hot Dog Honk – We’ll do everything with all age-groups together – games, story, songs, etc. – with the theme of hot dogs.

Bad Hair Night
We have a special event each month, and one month’s was Bad Hair Night. Kids camp with all kinds of wild hairstyles – frizzed, spiked, even blue.

Chartreuse?
For St. Patrick’s Day we had a meeting with a “green” theme: green clothes, green food, and green pop.

Crazy Hat Night
Use paper plates as the foundation for the hats. Have club members bring decorating materials from home, or gather a wide variety of materials from around the church. Provide things like glue, staples, and string to be used in assembling the hats.
When all hats are made, have a grand parade or give prizes. Conclude the events with refreshments.
To add another dimension, this could be a Pal or parent activity. Then Pals or parents could do the hat-making as a joint project with their club member.

Bible Character Dress-Up Party
Besides coming dressed as a Bible character, club members must also bring three clues to their identity. Have children take turns presenting their clues while the other children try to guess who they are. The event could include seasonal games and snacks.
