In Deuteronomy 6 Moses instructed Israel to impress upon children God’s truth. As part of his instruction he told them to write God’s commands on the doorpost and gates of their houses. By doing this, children would have a daily reminder of who God is, what He has done for them and how we are to act in obedience to His Word. This activity will help your club members have a daily reminder in their lives about their Lord and Savior.

Supplies needed:

  • Large construction paper (12” x 18”) or copy paper (11” x 17”)
  • Markers, crayons, pens, or colored pencils
  • Items to decorate poster (stickers, pictures, cloth, yarn, etc.)
  • Glue
  • Hymn or Christian song lyrics or Bible

Let your club members make a The Lord Is My Song Poster by letting them choose a hymn, Christian song or Psalm from which to make a poster. Or let them write their own Psalm (poem) to express their hearts about God and what he has done for them. Have children write out their choice on the paper and then decorate it as they would like. Tell them to take their poster home and hang it in their room as a reminder that the Lord is their Song.
